## Our Mission & History

Lum Law Group is a multi-generational law firm dedicated to serving individuals,
families, and businesses with expert legal representation in immigration, intellectual
property, and business law. Founded in 1965 by Albert C. Lum, the firm has built
a legacy of advocacy, integrity, and excellence spanning over 70 years of combined
legal experience.

### A Legacy of Legal Excellence

Albert C. Lum, a pioneering Chinese-American attorney, began his practice in Los
Angeles’ Chinatown, providing legal guidance to small businesses, immigrants, and
families. His expertise in business, tax, real estate, and immigration law made 
him a trusted advisor to the Chinese-American community. Throughout his career, 
he played a key role in major civil rights and legal battles, including redistricting
cases for Asian communities and a landmark lawsuit against Hollywood’s portrayal
of Chinese-Americans.

### A Commitment to Community & Advocacy

Albert Lum was a founding member and first president of the Southern California 
Chinese Lawyers Association (SCCLA)—the first Asian-American lawyers’ association
in the U.S. He also served as President of the Los Angeles Chinese Chamber of Commerce,
championing the rights of local businesses and advocating for political representation
of the Asian-American community.

### A Family Tradition in Law

Following in his father’s footsteps, Albert Justin Lum joined the practice, bringing
a strong foundation in biochemistry, economics, and law from UC Berkeley and UC 
Davis. He expanded the firm’s reach in intellectual property and immigration law,
working alongside his father since 2011. A past SCCLA president and community leader,
Justin has been actively involved in business advocacy, political engagement, and
community empowerment.
